Day Boat Hire

We have two self drive narrow boats which operate from our site at the bottom of FOXTON LOCKS, both of which are steel narrowboats and take a maximum of 12 people. Day hire is available all year round (weather permitting) and the hire duration is from 9.30am to 5pm. Pets are welcome on both of our boats. After a full induction and you are happy and relaxed about handling the boat, you are free to amble along heading either North towards Fleckney or East to Market Harborough, stopping as and when you please. Our Boats:

FOXY

Foxy is a 30ft steel narrowboat with an enclosed cabin, toilet, sink and small gas cooker. The boat can be heated if necessary by a hot air fan from the engine (just like a car heater) but this of course will only work whilst the engine is running! Seating is available at the front and rear of the boat. There is no hot or cold running water available on ‘Foxy’ and although we do provide you with a container of water for cooking & washing, we do recommend that you bring your own drinking water with you when hiring this boat. There is no fridge on board so cool boxes are necessary if you want to keep things chilled and please note that, other than a kettle, no other utensils are provided so please make sure you bring your own with you! FOXCUB

`Foxcub is a 37ft steel narrowboat with an enclosed cabin, toilet, sink, gas cooker and fridge. Both hot and cold running water are available and this boat also has full central heating. There is a large seating area around a table at the front of the boat which has a solid roof over an open side. There is also a see through canopy which can be rolled down should the weather necessitate it. Outside seating is also available at the stern of the boat. Please note that other than a kettle, no other utensils are provided so please make sure you bring your own with you! For a full inventory of what is on board please click here

All prices are inclusive of VAT, insurance and all fuel costs – the only extra is a refundable cash deposit* required on the day of hire. Full payment is required at the time of booking to guarantee availability.

For your info with regard to car parking at Foxton Locks:-

The site is freely accessible to the public all year round and you will find us open every day. The nearest parking is in the Canal & River Trust Pay and display car parks. Please check the Canal & River Trust website for up to date charges. Please bring change for the car parks as it cost business money to get change from banks. The country park car at the top of the locks is approx. 10 mins walk and the bottom car park is just a short 2 minute stroll.
